DESCRIPTION
A “design sprint” is a methodology based on the principles of design thinking. In this lightning talk, I will outline the basic steps of a design sprint and illustrate how it can help library workers and departments break down problems and test ideas in a practical way. To illustrate this, I will discuss the design sprint that I led at my institution, in which a team worked through our assumptions about what it means to browse library collections and to replicate that online. At the end of the presentation, I will share the pro’s and con’s of this process as well as a list of resources to get started.
