DESCRIPTION
Due to the unique layout of library spaces, users spend considerable time browsing and locating print or other physical materials in the stacks. While signage helps to some extent, we can do better to help our users navigate the stacks. A Roux Library instructional survey revealed that students need a quick reference in order to easily locate physical items in the stacks. Learning about our users’ needs and their browsing habits helped me design a web application that will provide a unique library service to members of the Florida Southern College community.

The Find@Roux web application is an easy-to-use dynamic map detailing stack location and bibliographic information for each print resource located in the stacks. It is designed in response to a great user need to appropriately identify items in the stacks and will serve as an example to other small libraries that do not have the budget to purchase an out-of-the-box web solution.
